Technology
There will be a computer in each presentation room connected to a data projector and room audio. There will also be a connection for you to connect your PC or Apple computer with VGA (and in some cases HDMI) outputs to the projector/audio. You may also bring your presentation on a flash drive or access it on cloud storage through the browser. We will have some adapters available for other types of connections (e.g., micro HDMI, lightning), but will not have enough to cover all rooms at all times, so if you have a device less commonly used for projection, we highly encourage you to bring your own adapter.
Weather
General: July in Berkeley is typically warm afternoons (23-25 degrees Celsius / 70 – 75 Fahrenheit), but cool in the evening and morning (15 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit). Temperatures can fall quickly from afternoon to early evening, so a sweater/jacket is highly recommended. However, occasional heat spells with temperatures rising to 30 degrees or more Celsius (mid to high 80’s and more) are possible. Rain is highly unlikely (not counting some early morning fog drip).
Friday through Sunday (7/7 – 7/9) high temperatures will be 24 degrees Celsius (74 Fahrenheit), and lows will be 12 degrees Celsius (53 degrees Fahrenheit). Please note that in the late afternoon, as the fog rolls in, temperatures could drop to 15-18 degrees Celsius (low 60’s), so do come prepared.
Presentations
Each presentation is 20 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for questions. In order to keep the conference on schedule, we will adhere strictly to the 20 minute limit. Please time your presentations accordingly.
